- The CROS P was developed for people with one deaf ear where amplifying the sound on that side is of no use.
- A microphone is placed behind the deaf ear. This sends the sound to the better ear, creating better understanding in noise.
- In this CROS model from Phonak they use their groundbreaking StereoZoom function. This is a microphone function where both sides work together to determine where the noise and where the speech comes from. By then intelligently directing the microphone to the speech, understanding improves considerably.
A sound hook or thin tube can be made on this model, so that the hearing aid is less likely to fall off your ear.
