My Starkey App

The My Starkey App was created to not only be user-friendly, but also to act as an educational platform with information such as how to maintain your hearing aids, as well as for tracking various exercise activities. Here we give you a brief summary of the features within the My Starkey App:

  • Viewing battery status
  • Volume control
  • Edge Mode+ for adjusting the sound in certain environments
  • Select preset programs, or create your own
  • Self Check feature where a check can be performed to check the "health" of your hearing aids
  • 'Find My Hearing Aids' can display the most recent location of your hearing aids
  • Audio streaming
  • Smart Assistant microphone
  • In the Learn-section, you can find content that will help you get used to your new Starkey hearing aids and how to maintain them
  • With the integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) sensors, health data can be collected in a weekly summary. Activities including steps, walking, running, cycling, and aerobics
  • Wellness feature includes Fall Alert that allows selected contacts to be notified when you have fallen
  • TeleHear is your contact with the online audiologist. Settings, adjustments and other changes can be made remotely
  • Also use the My Starkey App to keep track of your appointments with audible reminders through your hearing aids
  • Through the app, you can have conversations in 70 languages instantly translated and even transcribed into text.

How to connect Starkey hearing aids to the My Starkey App

For Apple devices:

  • Open the App Store®.
  • In the search box, type "My Starkey."
  • Tap INSTALL to start downloading the app.
  • Tap the SETTINGS icon. Select Accessibility > Hearing Devices. (If Bluetooth is set to OFF, set it to ON)
  • Turn the hearing devices OFF and then ON to activate pairing mode.
  • Under Hearing Devices, you should see the hearing aids (e.g., "Jane's hearing aids"). Tap this.
  • A dialog box appears for each hearing aid (RIGHT and LEFT). Tap 'Pair' for each dialog box. Pairing is complete.
  • Open the My Starkey app. You will then be prompted to set up. Tap 'Get Started'.
  • Review the terms of use: This includes the End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy. Tap 'Accept' to continue.
  • Connect the hearing aids. Follow the instructions to set up and connect the hearing aids to the app:
    • Make sure the hearing aids are charged and ON.
    • Tap Continue.
    • Once the app finds your hearing aids, a congratulations message appears. Tap Continue.
    • If the app cannot find the hearing aids, check that Bluetooth is ON and that the hearing aids are paired with the device. Return to STEP TWO: Pair the hearing aids with the device.
  • Sign in to the app and create an account:
    • Provide an active email address.
    • Create a password according to the guidelines and sign in.
  • Onboarding. The app displays a short series of permission screens:
    • Read the descriptions.
    • Tap 'Allow' or 'Continue'.
  • Review the overview on the app's home screen and learn about key features.
  • Tap Done. They are all set to start using the app.

For Android devices:

  • Open the Google Play™ store.
  • In the search box, type "My Starkey."
  • Tap INSTALL to download the app to the Android device.
  • Tap the settings icon on the device.
  • Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  • Turn the hearing aids OFF and then ON to enter pairing mode.
  • Open the My Starkey app. Tap ON to get started.
  • Review the terms of use: This includes the End User License Agreement and Privacy Policy. Tap ACCEPT to continue.
  • Pair and connect the hearing aids.
  • Follow the prompts: The app asks permission to use location services to locate the hearing aids. Tap PERMISSION.
  • When a hearing aid is found, the app asks to confirm that they are yours. Tap PAIR.
  • You'll be prompted to pair the My Starkey app with the hearing aids. Tap ALLOW.
  • If more than one hearing aid is found, you'll see a list. (If there are 2 then both a left and right hearing aid will appear). Select the box(es) next to the hearing aids. Tap 'Connect'.
  • Once the hearing aids are confirmed, a congratulations message appears. Tap "Continue.
  • Sign in to the app and create an account:
    • Make sure you have an active email address.
    • Create a password and log in.
  • The app displays a short series of permission screens:
    • Read the descriptions.
    • Tap ADD ALL or CONTINUE.
  • View the app's home screen and learn the main features.
  • Tap GOT IT. They are ready to start using the app.

Compatibility

My Starkey app runs on all versions of iOS 15, 16 or 17. For best performance, we recommend using the most current iOS version. iOS UPDATE NOTE: When updating the version of iOS on your iPhone, the hearing aids may lose connection, requiring you to un-pair and re-pair the hearing aids with your iPhone.
